Asin Thottumkal debut in a supporting role in Sathyan Anthikkad's Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, at the age of 15 Asin first Tamil language film was M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi, where she played with Jayam Ravi.
Asin appeared in his first dual role in KS Ravi Kumar's Dasavathaaram opposite Kamal Haasan, who played the ten roles. Asin later appeared in Vipul Shah's London Dreams with Salman Ajay Devgan Khanand where she played a member of a five-gang squad.
